To ensure the best dining experience with us, Shabestan takes prides in using only the finest ingredients. We use imported Persian flavoring in our dishes.Saffron, also referred to as the golden spices because it is pricier than real gold, is used generously to spice up the taste with other authentic herbs. We use olive oil together with fruits, such as pomegranates, prunes and raisins and nuts. The ingredients are rich in natural goodness. The delicate blend of fine Middle Eastern spices, fresh herbs and the finest ingredients help produce a unique culinary experience that's colourful, healthy and delicious.
Succulent Barbecues and Charcoal Gills
We only use premium lamb, beef, chicken and fish, and you will find the richness in their taste as they are charcoal grilled on spot. Freshly barbecued spring lamb, spiced chicken, succulent tender beef fillet and even fresh tiger prawns, all cooked in traditional Middle Eastern spices, are prepared to order in our show kitchen.
Rice and Bread
Shabestan Persian breads are not to be missed. It is all freshly made on our premises in a traditional clay oven. It is crispy, yet soft, and it brings out the full flavors of cheese and yogurt. It is great to go with fresh salad. Persian rice is absolutely unique. It is the soul to fine Persian dining. To prepare the perfect rice, the right type of rice has to be carefully selected. It is soaked in salty water for at least 48 hours prior to any preparation. The preparation involves cooking, baking under attentive care, and perfected by saffron flavoring. We believe that the meticulous preparation of rice brings you the masterpiece in your dish. Shabestan makes excellent vegetarian stews. "Managing director and executive chef Mohammed Hosseini has spent 16 years in Persian cuisine. His passion on culinary art has led him to changing his career from a mechanical engineer to a chef. He has dreamed about to open a restaurant with only best ingredients, finest spices and something nice. His dream started in a dark corner of a 5 star hotel restaurant as a kitchen assistant with endless potato to clean and cut. His talent was quickly recognized and he was promoted as the executive chef in the hotel in Dubai. In 2006, an opportunity to pioneering the fine dining Persian food in Singapore attracted him to this part of the world, and he started working an executive chef. That was when he met the best team member and future business partner- Chef Yang. Chef Mohammad decided it was time to pursue his dream in 2013, and naming it as Shabestan. Chef Yang has specialized in Persian food for 8 years. Her first love is western pastry and Asian food, and finds it fascinating when she starts digging into the world of Persian food. She is excited to create a fusion between different culinary arts. With a highly creative mind, she loves the blend the traditional food with new ideas. Her creativity has shaped Shabestan to be successful blending a modern take in store location, design and menu design."
